Name: | Cian |

Name: Cian
Age: 15
Birthdate: November 18th (Scorpio)
Class: Mage (Fire)
Country: Kilia
Magic proficiency: Fire
Family: Aideen (mother), Phelan (father)
HISTORY
Cian was the first and only child born to a wealthy Tarra couple. His mother owned one of the most popular bookstores in the city, which owed much of its success to her and her husband's shrewd financial skills. Phelan was the one who came up with the idea of renting out the apartment above the shop to scholars and the like; half the family's money came from the tennants.
As a result, Cian got used to being surrounded by people and took to it unusually well. He'd go out of his way to talk to them and try to make friends, which struck most as odd (though thankfully not odd enough to repel potential customers and tennants). He also developed a love of reading thanks to being surrounded by books.
When he was seven, a young lady named Aelbhe rented the apartment From the moment they first spoke he became absolutely enthralled by her; she was everything he admired in a person. He tried to find ways to spend more time with her, including asking for her help with his studies, and over time they formed a strong bond of friendship. Cian adored Aelbhe and even considered her his best friend.
Then one day she left without so much as a word, and Cian was crushed. He withdrew into himself, letting his studies fall by the wayside (they were too painful a reminder of Aelbhe) and losing interest in his friends and everything else. His parents tried everything to console him, but to little avail. It was only when Aelbhe made a surprise return on the Day of Everlasting Darkness that he began to smile again.
Aelbhe left again, though, and Cian once again slid into depression. Only after the second time she left and came back again did he realize this was just a pattern of hers, and Cian tried to accept it. It wasn't as if he'd never see her again, after all.
But he still wished she'd stay.
PERSONALITY
As a little boy, Cian was abnormally open and friendly for a Kilian. His parents assumed it was just a phase he'd grow out of, and they were partially right. Today's Cian is still somewhat warm and open, but nowhere near the level he used to be. He's sociable, but in a quiet and subdued manner. He's somewhat spoiled and knows it due to being his parents' only child, but he tries his best to be appreciative of it or at least not take it completely for granted.
Cian can be somewhat clingy at times, though, due in part both to the loneliness of being an only child and Aelbhe's constant comings and goings. He has several close friends who care about him, but he worries constantly that one day they'll up and move away from Tarra too. He envies people with brothers and sisters and has asked his parents more than once why they stopped having children after him.
His vocal patterns run to extremes; normal, studious Cian speaks eloquently and is prone to big words and lofty phrasings, while clingy Cian speaks more plainly and seems almost childlike.
Cian is completely dedicated to his studies, both out of a genuine love of learning and as a reminder of how much Aelbhe means to him.
APPEARANCE
Cian is on the short side with expressive green eyes and messy brown hair on the longer side of short. His appearance is slightly feminine, though thankfully not to the point where he's actually mistaken for a girl. He favors dark colors and has the habit of twirling his hair when he's deep in thought. Thanks to his small stature he's often mistaken for being younger than his actual age, which he's used to but loathes.
